The system from Torex Retail Holdings Ltd has been implemented at all the 356 PizzaExpress sites in the UK, Ireland and Channel Islands.
Following a five month pilot programme, the POS solution successfully reduced customer waiting time, administration and achieved greater accuracy in stock accounting, resulting in reduced wastage, across six restaurants.
In a statement PizzaExpress explained more: "On the restaurant floor, teams will be able to spend more time offering PizzaExpress' excellent service to their customers, as previously time-consuming manual administration tasks will be automated and therefore the time required to complete the tasks will be reduced dramatically.
"Orders will now be sent directly to kitchen and bar printers, reducing customer waiting time and improving the accuracy of the orders taken. Also, Head Office will receive more timely stock and cash information across all of its restaurants, by receiving data updates every fifteen minutes."
John Sullivan, director for group IT at Gondola Group said: "We pride ourselves on providing an exceptionally high level of customer service in our busy restaurants. Our previous POS system and out of date processes meant we were spending too much time on admin, which limited the time they could spend with customers. We needed a solution that would capture our sales data accurately, enable us to manage stock limiting waste and automate manual tasks."
