People 1st achieved the Top 100 listing in just the second year of entering the accreditation programme, and was also shortlisted in the 'best for training and development' award category, as well as receiving a one star (first class) listing.
It scored highly on employees believing they made a valuable contribution to the company's success (84%) and their faith in the chief executive Brian Wisdom (83%).
David Fairhurst, chief people officer Europe for McDonald's and chairman of People 1st, commented on the achievement: "We were the only sector skills council included in the Top 100 charity and public sector listing and were thrilled to receive this result in only our second year.
"We have always known that the Best Companies process is a journey and how you demonstrate improvement on your performance each year is part of the judging criteria. Despite the past year being a challenging financial climate, all of our employees put a huge amount into making this a great place to work and I'm delighted that we have been recognised for living our values."
Thie year saw a total of 1,165 organisations apply to be accredited by Best Companies across their three Top 100 lists (small companies, big companies and public/charity sector) with over 290,000 employees of those organisations being surveyed.
