Peach announces three new sites

2nd December 2009, 12:03pm

Award-winning pub co Peach has announced the opening of three new sites.

The launch of the James Figg, formerly the Abingdon Arms, in Thame on 3rd December, follows hot on the heels of the official opening of Peach's second Almanack in Leicester and the deal to buy the Richard Onslow in Cranleigh, Surrey, the first pub for joint venture partner John Taylor.

Peach co-founder Hamish Stoddart said: "It's been a heady few weeks for everyone on the team as three exciting new ventures, so long in the planning – have finally been realised.

"We're really pleased that our second Almanack has opened to a rapturous reception from the people of Leicester, and our first wet-led pub in Thame, just down the road from the food-led Thatch, has been similarly well received. Now, signing the deal to buy The Richard Onslow in the heart of Cranleigh is really the icing on the cake."

Peach plans to develop the space above The Richard Onslow in partnership with local developers Tillingbourne to create seven en suite letting rooms, ready for use late in 2010. The pub is currently undergoing a minor refit to reorganise the kitchen and eatery and will reopen in mid December ready to serve the people of Cranleigh in the run-up to Christmas and the New Year. John Taylor and his team will be at the helm.

Hamish added: "We've all been working round the clock for the last few weeks and I think we can honestly say it's only been thanks to a great team effort with everyone pitching in that we've been able to pull all of this off," adds Hamish. "The push will mean three more great pubs joining the Peach stable, taking our estate to 13, definitely lucky for us. We'll be looking for more people to join our team in all roles front and back of house over the coming weeks."
