Peach Pubs signs deal for 11th site

27th May 2009, 9:00am

Pubco Peach has announced the agreement of a deal with retail property developer Hammerson to create a new gastropub in Leicester city centre which will be its second Almanack site.

On signing the deal, co-founders Lee Cash and Hamish Stoddart also launched their search for a new joint venture partner to develop the site.

Cash explained more: "This is a cracking site in a really high spec new development in Leicester that throws the door wide open to a large and vibrant adult leisure scene. It's right in the heart of the city and part of a solid long-term development. It has all the right infrastructure including great access and parking, and the support of a really forward-thinking developer keen to bring a proven concept like the Almanack to the area.

"It also ticks all the right boxes for us: a bright modern space in the best part of town, in an environment that's just waiting for the arrival of a great local place to eat, drink and socialise with friends. What's more, the area offers plenty of scope for all-day dining as well as a first-rate drinking crowd in the evening, so it really is ideal for The Almanack's through the day concept."

To develop and run the site, Peach is looking for a new joint venture partner to come on board and work with the company as an investor partner.

Criteria for the role will be solid operational experience in a profitable restaurant, hotel or pub environment, along with the drive to create their own successful business with the backing of a business partner.

"We're looking for a rising star – someone who wants to be the best in town and work with us to create that place right here at this exciting new site in Leicester," continues Cash.

With the Leicester site now in the final design stage, Peach will be looking to open in October of this year. The Almanack will have an 80-cover restaurant with additional spaces for eating at the bar, as well as a private dining room with its own bar for a further 60, fulfilling a wide range of functions for the people of Leicester.
