PORTAL RESTAURANT CELEBRATES FIFTH ANNIVERSARY

Portal, the Clerkenwell based modern European restaurant and wine bar celebrates its fifth birthday this month.

The restaurant, which serves Portuguese cuisine delivered in a French style, was opened in 2005 by restaurateur Antonio Correia. 

As a member of the Confraria do Vinho (Royal Port Sociey) and the Confraria da Bairrada, Correia has used his knowhow to create an extensive list of Portuguese wines to accompany his menu. 

Executive chef at the restaurant, Pedro Peinado Pereira, who was shortlisted in the 2005 Chef of the Year Award in Portugal, has recently launched a new spring menu, which includes house specialty 'Bisaro' and the famous suckling pig dish 'Leittao a barrada.' Portal will hold a soiree with canapés on Monday 14th June to mark the occasion.
