The pub and restaurant company is on the lookout for 'proper chefs', which in its opinion means a chef that is fully trained in his vocation, always has clean whites, and knows that some days are going to be tough but highly rewarding at the same time.
The newly announced Chef Apprenticeship Schemes will be headed up by Orchid's development manager Lucy Craig and coincide with the start of National Apprenticeship Week, which launches in the second week of February.
Recruitment for the scheme is set to start in February and run into March, with training starting in April.
Craig said: "I can't wait to get the apprenticeships up and running. As a company, our two great loves are people and food; put the two together and we could make some truly great chefs."
The company has a strong background in training and development; the evidence of which lying with the success of the company's Step to Excellence management courses, and their receipt of a National Training Award for the East of England in 2009.
The Orchid Group also came 5th in last year's Sunday Times Best Big Companies to work for, putting any lucky candidates in more than capable hands.
Craig added: "The brilliant thing about apprenticeships is that you can earn money whilst you learn valuable job specific skills. Any body interested in our apprenticeships should have a tenacity to learn and a wealth of enthusiasm and passion for food."
