Customers need to download the free application to access the reservation system.
The application then allows customers to; check the real-time table availability of multiple restaurants in their area, confirm the reservation and find the restaurants' location on the map.
Diners can also view results on a map giving a visual sense of where the restaurants are located.
It also provides the option of sending emails alerting the reservation time to friends, colleagues or family.
David Pritchard, managing director of OpenTable Europe explained more: "The combination of allowing people to match their actual location with availability at nearby restaurants makes OpenTable for iPhone and iPod touch unique."
