Online Restaurant Marketing Workshops launched

4th April 2008, 4:34pm

Online marketing has taken the restaurant trade by storm. It has fast become the most cost effective and successful way to boost a restaurant's profile and the Livebookings Network has launched a UK-wide series of Online Marketing Workshops.

David Norris, Chief Operating Officer for Livebookings said: "Restaurants' reservations are migrating online following the lead set by previous verticals such as hotels, concert tickets, cinemas, and car rental. This is being driven both by consumer demand and by innovative restaurateurs and marketing managers."

He continued: "In the new world of online marketing there are some simple but effective techniques that every restaurant can benefit from. To feel confident in such matters is a hurdle that many in the industry welcome help with. Therefore we are delighted to be hosting this series of workshops to assist restaurants in making the most of the evolving competitive landscape, by offering impartial advice from experts in their field."

Run in two-hour time slots and co-ordinated to complement a restaurant's daily service periods, the workshops will engage modern thinking to provide workable, practical guidance on the topic of online marketing.

They are free for members of the Livebookings Network and selected partners.

This month's workshop, on Thursday 24 April, in London, will see E-mail Marketing, Search Engine Marketing and Effective Web Design on the agenda.

E-Mail Marketing will be addressed by Matthew Kirby, UK Managing Director of Fishbowl Marketing, which provides on-demand email marketing software solutions and professional services to 28,000 restaurant locations in North America and Europe – who will look at ways to e-mail existing restaurant customers, capture valuable data and deliver promotions.

He will also discuss campaign building, results analysis and customer relationships.

Search Engine Marketing will see Warren Cowen, Chief Executive Officer of Greenlight reveal the basics and benefits of search engine optimisation for those restaurants hungry to attract traffic to their websites and capture custom as a result of improved search engine rankings.

Finally, Effective Web Design will be delivered by Keith Davie, Creative Director of Salad Creative, specialists at creating fresh, functional websites, with clients in the restaurant sector. Delegates will learn about the implementation of effective web design, the importance of maintenance and how to maximise opportunities brought about by the site.
