Nottingham-based interior design completes Oundle's Chapel bar

15th May 2009, 11:09am

Nottingham-based interior design and architects Macaulay Sinclair have used their award-winning expertise to captivate a Northants market town dining community with the completion of Oundle's Chapel Bar & Dining Room.

Chapel Bar & Dining Room marks a departure in scale for Macaulay Sinclair, the preferred design practice for Marston's plc., prompting Director Mike Sinclair to note: "While we are an agency that have made our name working on multiples for plcs and independents, we pride ourselves on doing more than just design.

"Vanity projects like this are an exciting opportunity to help smaller, ambitious entrepreneurs new to the business who are looking for an arm around the shoulder across the whole project. They also give us a chance to keep our finger on the commercial pulse of every element of the independent bar and restaurant sector."

Chapel Bar & Dining Room is housed in a wonderful mid-19th Century Wesleyan Chapel in a scenic, quintessentially British location.

On its new owners, Sinclair added: "I think a great deal of credit should be given to Rachel Palmer who, to start a new business in the current climate, has shown real vision, character and verve while creating an exciting addition to the social life of Oundle and its visitors.

"From an operational point of view, the fact that Chapel Bar & Dining Room sits alongside Palmer's Chocolate Shop and Eve lingerie, completing The Bazaar development, places it on the soundest possible business footing. It has a real opportunity for lasting success."

Owner Rachel Palmer added: "I think that the contribution Macaulay Sinclair made to our business is difficult to really measure. They have proved to do so much more than simply design. From the outset, they listened and considered my thoughts while providing expert guidance, advice and imagination. I think the result is something of which we are all immensely proud."
