Nicholl’s returns in £1m development at the three locks golf club

2nd August 2010, 11:15am

Popular restaurant name Nicholl’s is set to return to the Beds/Bucks region in a brand new development at the renowned Three Locks Golf Club near Leighton Buzzard.

Work has started on the construction of a state-of-the-art dining facility, clubhouse and changing rooms as part of a £1million development which aims to provide golfers and diners with a first class experience in a countryside setting.

Course improvements have already established The Three Locks as one of the UK's top open golf clubs. Teaming up with Nicholl's will add a new restaurant and bar which will be open to all visitors as well as those using the club. The new venue will also cater for weddings and private parties.

The brand new Nicholl's will have a bar and lounge area serving bar snacks, a "spike" bar for golfers and an inviting restaurant serving fantastic food made from fresh, local produce – including Nicholl's famous salmon fishcakes.

Greg Nicholl, founder of the Nicholl's brand of restaurants, is well known in this region as an accomplished chef and restaurateur in his own right.

"This is a really exciting opportunity," he said. "The Three Locks is creating a wonderful, bespoke building to house Nicholl's in this magnificent rural setting and I am really looking forward to rolling up my sleeves and getting in the kitchen."

Three Locks director of golf, Peter Critchley, and his wife Patrice welcomed the move. He said: "We are delighted that Nicholl's has agreed to join us here at The Three Locks and I know that once Greg starts to work his magic our golfers and diners are in for a fantastic experience."
