West Cornwall Pasty and Levi Roots join forces
The West Cornwall Pasty Co has teamed up with Levi Roots to create a spicy Reggae Reggae Pasty. The new pasty features hand crimped flaky pastry with pieces of chicken breast, red pepper, potato, onion, tomato, pineapple, jerk seasoning and a splash of Reggae Reggae cooking sauce. Chief executive Richard Nieto said: "We're delighted to introduce the Reggae Reggae Pasty. We're wholly committed to developing exciting new products and we're sure this will be a huge success with our customers. Levi and his team are very forward-thinking – it's been great to work with such a flourishing brand which we share great affinity." The pasty is now available in West Cornwall Pasty's shops and kiosks across London.
Wonderland month at The Brickhouse
To celebrate the launch of the new Alice In Wonderland movie and the 145th anniversary of the book, The Brickhouse cocktail bar and supperclub in East London is hosting a Wonderland Month throughout March. The ground floor cocktail bar is serving a specially designed absinthe based cocktail called Down The Rabbit Hole which will contain apple schnaps, vodka, absinthe, fresh apple juice and a dash of lemon juice, topped with lemonade. Guests can also choose dishes from the 'Eat Me' menu designed by head chef Matthew Reuther. Meanwhile from 16-20 March, the entertainment will be provided by Boopsie Wonderland.
Sales drop at Heineken
Brewing company Heineken has reported a drop in sales volumes in 2009. According to reports, beer volumes dropped by 1.5% last year, but revenues increased 2.7% to 14.7 billion euros. The group made a net profit of 1.05 billion euros. The company said it was committed to maintaining or increasing prices this year, but that any increases would not be as steep as they were last year.
Profits up at Kerry Group
Irish food company Kerry Group has reported a rise in annual pre-tax profits. Pre-tax profits for last year were almost 336 million, up 6% on the previous year. Chief executive Stan McCarthy said the business had "performed robustly" in the face of the recession. He added: "Our strategies and investment programmes will enable sustained margin improvement and we are confident of delivering earnings growth in 2010."
CHA teams up with Dial Green
The Considerate Hoteliers Association (CHA) has formed a strategic alliance with North Devon-based Dial Green – a leading green UK telecommunications reseller. Under the agreement which commences on 1 April 2010, Dial Green will act as the CHA's nominated expert on hotel and guest-house telecommunications issues related to the environment. Dial Green will offer free-of-charge impartial collective advice to the CHA's members. David Wood, head of sales at Dial Green, said: "We are very pleased to enter into a strategic alliance with such an august organisation as the CHA, with whom we share similar professional values and 'best environmental practice' objectives."
