New owner to operate renowned and popular Dartmoor hotel

1st September 2011, 3:55pm

Acting on behalf of Akkeron Hotels Ltd, Christie + Co has sold The Moorland Links Hotel located on the outskirts of Yelverton in Devon.

The hotel was sold for an undisclosed sum from a guide price of £1.3 million freehold.

The Moorland Links Hotel has 45 bedrooms and is a renowned leisure destination, whilst also being popular for weddings, conferences and banqueting events.

The new owner of the hotel Brian Meaden intends to complete a comprehensive refurbishment programme to grow the business and take advantage of its excellent reputation.

Simon Harvey, director of Christie + Co said: "We were delighted to have introduced The Moorland Links Hotel to a private buyer who completed this transaction within six weeks. This sale reinforces buyers' appetite for the right property, particularly where realistic pricing reflects market sentiment."

Harvey adds: "Despite these challenging market conditions, Christie + Co received strong interest in this opportunity, selecting the eventual purchaser on their credible strength to complete the deal quickly. We wish the new owner continued success with this hotel."
