New opening for Giraffe

15th June 2009, 2:28pm

Giraffe, the independently-owned restaurant group, has just opened its 25th and latest location in Victoria, London.

This new addition to the giraffe family is sited on Wilton Road and is close to London's Victoria mainline train station, comprising a 70-cover restaurant and 10-cover alfresco space.

The design of the 2,200 sq ft site is a collaboration between the owners and architects Wells Mackereth with the aim of creating a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.

The Victoria site mixes modern bench seating in earthy wood tones with sharing tables at differing heights, café-style dining spaces and vibrant colours.

Head chef Arek Kornak serves up breakfast classics such as eggs benedict, smoked salmon bagel and the 'Good Morning' breakfast to Rude Health porridge and muesli, right through to brunch, lunch and a wide-ranging dinner menu of burritos, burgers and noodles.

The main menu is supplemented by a number of specials and fish from sustainable sources. Average spend per head is £12.

Using ingredients from respected producers, giraffe sources all their wines from the experts at Bibendum, their own own Zarafa blended coffee from family producers in Brazil and Guatemala which is hand-roasted by Union Coffee Roasters in Greenwich, along with fine teas from teapigs.
