The Left Bank, which operates as a café by day and bar by night, opens extended hours and appeals to museum visitors, staff, local office workers and the wider community with its fresh food philosophy.
In addition to offering on-the-go sandwiches, wraps and salads, Couture has designed a menu in keeping with the Museum's remit of documenting the history of the labour movement. Traditional fare such as bacon fidget pie and pan haggerty will be on offer. The venue is also available for corporate events, parties and weddings.
Couture's managing director Marc Warde said: "We are delighted to be opening our second exciting venue in Manchester and to bring our fresh food to the wider community. We really believe that the Left Bank café bar will be a great addition to the Museum and hope soon we will have a reputation as a stand alone venue worth visiting in its own right."
Janneke Geene, development manager at the People's History Museum, added: "The choice of Couture as the catering contractor for The Left Bank cafe bar was unanimous. Their approach was original yet practical. They had given a lot of thought to the subject matter of the museum and how the cafe could add value."
