New guide showcases great places to eat in city

17th February 2010, 7:18am

A new guide showcasing the best places to wine and dine in Wolverhampton will be launched at a special event at a popular city centre restaurant next week.

Eat in Wolverhampton is the city's first food and drink guide. It features in-depth profiles of nearly 30 establishments, as well as comprehensive listings for all the other places there are to eat out at. They are listed alphabetically and also include useful information such as awards, 'scores on the doors' food hygiene ratings and contact details.

Produced by Wolverhampton City Council and Wolverhampton City Centre Company, the guide also contains 12 pages of money-off vouchers to many of the featured establishments.

It will be officially unveiled at a special launch event at the Bluebrick Table Table restaurant next Monday which will also feature free tasting sessions and cookery demonstrations.

Wolverhampton City Council's development and promotions officer Emma Cleary said: "Wolverhampton has lots of great pubs and restaurants and we have brought them together into one handy guide. We hope Eat in Wolverhampton will raise the profile of places to eat and drink out in Wolverhampton and encourage people to support local businesses, especially with the discount vouchers which offer great value for money."
