New gluten-free menus at Wetherspoon pubs

8th May 2008, 3:52pm

JD Wetherspoon is now offering customers with coeliac diseases a new gluten-free menu.

The pub group is offering over 20 new menu items that are all produced with gluten-free ingredients, some of which can also be found in children's menus.

The gluten-free meals include BBQ Chicken Melt, Pork Loin Steaks, Chicken Korma (children's menu), Lamb Rogan Josh, followed by Mint Chocolate Ice Cream Bombe for dessert.

Jameson Robinson, Wetherspoon's food-development manager, commented on the new mneu: "At least one in 100 people is estimated to suffer from coeliac disease in the UK. We are keen to offer those people as wide a choice of meals as possible – and that is borne out by our gluten-free menu."
