New general manager at Holbeck Ghyll Country House Hotel

The Holbeck Ghyll Country House Hotel, Restaurant and Spa in the Lake District has appointed a new general manager to head up the team.

Andrew McPherson brings a wealth of experience to the role, having spent five years as general manager at Swinton Park Hotel in North Yorkshire. During his time there the hotel won several awards, including 2009 Yorkshire Hotel of the Year, awarded by Welcome to Yorkshire, and 2009 Green Business Award at the Yorkshire Rural Awards.

Prior to that, he was also general manager at the Skibo Castle in Scotland for seven years.

McPherson commented on his new position: "This is a very exciting opportunity for me, an opportunity I simply could not turn down. Holbeck Ghyll is one of the UK's leading hotels and attracts guests from all over the world. 

"There's something very special about the place and I'm looking forward to working with an excellent team in such a beautiful part of the country."
