New finance director at Mitchells & Butlers pub group

Pub group Mitchells & Butlers has appointed Tim Jones as finance director of the company.

Jones has been group finance director at Interserve Plc since 2003.  Prior to this, he held senior financial positions at Novar, Exel, British Gas and Hambros Bank both in the UK and overseas.  In these roles Jones has been responsible for a wide range of strategic, operational and corporate finance projects. 

A joining date for Jones has not yet been finalised.  Jeremy Townsend, the current finance director, will leave the company on 31 August.

Adam Fowle, chief executive, commented on the appointment: "We are delighted to welcome Tim to the Board.  His wide experience will be of great value as we continue to drive the strong performance of the Company."
