David Wilson has 20 years' public affairs and communications experience including stints as a Government special adviser and deputy leader of a London Borough. He joins the BBPA from the East of England Development Agency where he led their external relations team in Norfolk and Suffolk.
Prior to this he was a partner at Portland PR where he led their public affairs division with clients including McDonald's, the Wine & Spirit Trade Association and the Scouts Association.
Welcoming David to the BBPA, chief executive Brigid Simmonds said: "David has a wealth of public affairs experience to draw upon, and is already familiar with the key issues and challenges facing our sector. We are delighted to welcome him to the BBPA team."
The BBPA has also appointed John Wilson as new director of finance & administration. Wilson has replaced Wayne Bridgens, who is retiring from the role after nearly 22 years of service at the BBPA.
