Mackenzie brings over 20 years experience to the role, having previously worked as head chef for several high profile hotels including the De Vere Oulton Hall Hotel and Spa, Leeds, and the Bagden Hall Hotel, Scisset.
Using both local and seasonal ingredients, he will be taking inspiration from the surroundings to produce a British menu that includes both classical and modern dishes, combining simple flavours cooked with care and attention.
Charles Merchie, general manager at Wood Hall, commented: "We are extremely fortunate to have secured such a talented and experienced chef to head up the team at Wood Hall Hotel & Spa. I am delighted to welcome Norman to the hotel and am excited to work alongside him to further enhance the fine cuisine for which Wood Hall Hotel & Spa is already renowned."
At Wood Hall, as with every Hand Picked Hotel, menus are both seasonal and regional, concentrating on local specialty ingredients and dishes, which are served in the two AA rosette Georgian Restaurant.
