New Liverpool restaurant appoints executive head chef

6th August 2010, 11:46am

A new restaurant which is to open in Liverpool City Centre this summer has just appointed its executive head chef.

Lee Hibberd will head up the kitchen staff at Sofrito L1. The family run Mediterranean restaurant vows to provide "a fantastic warm atmosphere for customers" and will open later this month.

Hibberd said: "I've worked with Souf for ten years, and I'm extremely excited to be involved with this new venture. It will be a really successful restaurant, as it has a great location and there has been an incredible amount of passion and dedication put into it.

"It's great to be able to look forward and imagine what the restaurant will achieve, if it's anything like the Wigan restaurant it will be a great success. Even at this early stage it's definitely something I am proud to be involved with."

Owner Soufiane Hamdadou, who currently owns another Sofrito restaurant based in Wigan is delighted with the appointment.

"I have worked with Lee before; in fact I opened the Wigan restaurant with him several years ago. He is a fantastic addition to our team and someone who I know will give their all to the restaurant. Lee is extremely dedicated and will ensure that everything runs smoothly with the restaurant when I am not there. It's very important for me to have somebody who I trust completely, Lee and I have always had a very strong professional relationship and this is something that I value greatly."

The restaurant is due to open later this summer in the White Chapel area of Liverpool and will offer a wide range of Mediterranean dishes.

All food will be prepared fresh on the premise and sourced locally.
