New Iphone app promises discount meals

2nd July 2010, 1:09pm

Iphone users looking for a good value meal out locally can take advantage of the new free-to-use voucher app by moneysupermarket.com.

The new concept is a first for the comparison website and was created in collaboration with full mobile solution provider YOC Group. It promises to provide a range of 'exclusive' voucher deals and discounts.

Operated using local tracking technology, the app allows users to find the best deals at eateries local to their location. Users can also reserve tables and obtain vouchers by simply scanning a barcode on their phone – without having to download and print vouchers.

The launch follows a study by moneysupermarket found that the UK population redeemed 25% more vouchers this year compared to last - 2.4 million discount vouchers daily - the equivalent of 1,692 vouchers every minute.
