National pubco seeks new operations director to support growth

5th January 2010, 10:45am

It may sound like a lonely hearts advertisement but national pub company Peach is seeking its perfect operations director to help steer its 13-strong group through its next growth phase.

The role is currently filled by Paul Cutsforth but he's set to move to the Orchid pub group as a main board director at the end of March.

"The Peach main board director role is a fantastic opportunity for a senior operator with multi-site pub or restaurant development experience under their belt who is looking for their next challenge. In addition to working alongside Peach's senior management team to develop the company's product and service offer, the role also involves strategic as well as practical support for the joint venture partners as they grow their own Peach pub businesses," said the company.

Lee Cash, co-founder of Peach added: "This is a big role in a go-getting kind of company that punches well above its weight in the industry, where people most definitely come first. Things have never been better; our pubs are busy, people love what we do and we're consistently hitting the numbers – like-for-likes have been strongly up in the latter part of the year and in November 2009 are a full 10% ahead of where we were last year. We're growing, too, but in a way that keeps the quality.

"What we need now is someone to step straight into Paul's shoes – not an easy task as he certainly achieved a lot in the year he was with us – to continue the good work we've been doing on things like our beer offer, creating more tools to help our joint venture partners succeed and essentially developing our people, something we work really hard at.

"We're sorry to be losing Paul – it was a good fit – but we appreciate he's been made an offer he felt unable to turn down and we respect that – sometimes you just have to let go. It's onwards and upwards now for us, and we're starting the New Year in earnest looking for the right person to assume the role," Cash said.
