Emma Green, proprietor of Green's Restaurant & Bistro and winner of the Best Restaurant title, said: "This is a truly amazing achievement and we are delighted to win such a prestigious award. We are looking forward to sharing this success with our fantastic team back in Whitby."

Thom Hetherington, managing director of Moorfield Media, organisers of the awards, commented: "The calibre of entries this year has been exceptionally high and I know that our judges were faced with quite a challenge when selecting the winners.
