The new service works to ensure restaurants are compliant with Environmental Health Office (EHO) standards and the 'Scores on the Doors' system. It offers up to eight technician site visits a year plus access to the latest pest prevention technologies.
The 'Scores' system is a food hygiene rating scheme set up to show the public which restaurants, pubs and bars have good food hygiene standards. There are currently 102,216 food establishments listed on the database.
Rentokil can offer proprietors pest prevention service record books tailored to match EHO audit criteria. The books highlight any risks that might impact their 'Scores' rating. Restaurants can also get a free 'Scores' risk profile survey.
Rentokil's marketing manager Julie Birch says: "Consumers are much more selective now about where they will spend their money when they eat out and schemes like 'Scores on the Doors' make it easier for them to research a restaurant before they decide whether to visit. Rentokil wants to help the food industry achieve higher food hygiene scores and keep customers flocking in as a result."
