Montrose-based pub company acquires second site

2nd August 2010, 11:43am

Acting on behalf of Punch Taverns, Christie + Co has sold the freehold of the West Port Bar in Arbroath, Scotland, to Montrose-based pub company Kayenne Leisure Ltd, for an undisclosed sum, with offers in excess of £110,000 sought.

The bar, which is situated next to the railway station in Arbroath, includes a large open-plan lounge bar and a basement with service areas and beer cellars.

Kayenne Leisure also currently operates the Black Abbott public house in Montrose, which was named Scottish Community Pub of the Year 2008 by Scottish Licensed Trade News.

Barry McNeil, associate director at Christie + Co, said: "We wish Kayenne Leisure Ltd every success with its recent acquisition. The business was part of Christie + Co's highly successful Punch Taverns freehold disposal programme, which was launched near the end of 2009. This has proven to be very effective with multiple offers received on a number of sites throughout Scotland."
