Masterchef winner Steve Groves to cook at Hotel and Catering Show Dinner

8th December 2009, 8:28am

Masterchef winner Steve Groves has revealed that he will be cooking at the Hotel and Catering Show Dinner on Tuesday 16th March 2010, which will take place at the Bournemouth Highcliff Marriott Hotel.

Groves, former head chef at Dorset-based Branksome Beach restaurant and current sous chef at the London restaurant Launceston Place, will demonstrate his culinary expertise and passion for cooking to guests attending the dinner and these will include professionals such as Brain Turner, Mitch Tonks, Cyrus Todiwala MBE and Giles Thompson.

Teaming up with the executive chef at the Bournemouth Highcliff Marriott, Clyde Hollett, and current head chef at Branksome Beach, Lionel Sene, Groves will work with Clyde and Lionel to design a four-course menu. Guests will also be able to enjoy fine wines courtesy of Matthew Clark.

The annual event, in association with the Wessex Salon Culinaire and the Craft Guild of Chefs, will also host the award ceremony for this year's Wessex Salon Culinaire and feature a charity auction in aid of Hospitality Action.

Groves said: "Winning Masterchef was amazing and I am now concentrating on becoming the best chef I can be.  The Hotel and Catering Show dinners have become a highlight on the hospitality industry's social calendar and cooking for an audience of highly respected chefs, restaurateurs and hoteliers will be a great opportunity."

Anna Wallis, show director of the Hotel and Catering Show, added: "The Show Dinner is becoming a bigger and stronger event each year and to have three leading chefs cooking for the 2010 event is a fantastic endorsement.  I'm sure that cooking at the Show Dinner will not be as gruelling as the four days of kitchen challenges Steve faced during Masterchef!"
