Master Innholders raise £10,000 for industry charities

6th February 2012, 2:45pm

The Master Innholders has presented £5,000 each to industry charities Hospitality Action and The Springboard Charity.

The donation was raised at the recent Master Innholders Annual General Managers' Conference held at the London Hilton on Park Lane.

Over 450 leading hoteliers attended the two-day conference and black-tie gala dinner and speakers provided invaluable insight with standout sessions including a presentation by Lord Coe about the impact of the Olympics.

Philip Howard, chef and co-owner of The Square, also gave an inspirational talk reflecting on his past drug and alcohol abuse and the support The Ark Foundation provided him.

Penny Moore, CEO, Hospitality Action said: "Hospitality Action and The Springboard Charity work hard to ensure that past and present hospitality employees have somewhere to turn, so we're thrilled that the Master Innholders have chosen to donate to both charities. It's thanks to the continued and invaluable generosity of our supporters that we're able to carry out our vital work."

Anne Pierce, CEO, The Springboard Charity added: "Springboard is dedicated to changing people's lives and improving their economic well-being by channelling them into sustainable employment opportunities within the sector so that they can achieve their potential. We're delighted to receive this generous donation from the Master Innholders who understand and appreciate the fact that both Hospitality Action and Springboard really do make a difference."

Hospitality Action and The Springboard Charity will join forces on Monday 27 February to host The Big Event. Guests will enjoy delicious food from top chefs Jason Atherton, John Campbell and William Curley alongside first class entertainment. To book your place visit: http://thebigevent.uk.net/
