Margate guest house is up for sale

The Maidstone Office of business agents, Christie + Co, has been appointed to sell an established 3 Star AA guest house in the seaside town of Margate on the north Kent coast.

Greswolde Hotel is well situated within easy reach of the seafront attractions and beaches of Margate and Cliftonville and is a substantial Victorian bay-fronted terrace house. The current owners have made a feature of the property's period character, furnishing it in traditional style, with antiques and decorations, which keep in with the theme.

The letting accommodation comprises eight bedrooms; six of which are en suite, and there is a spacious breakfast room, a comfortable guest lounge, with a traditional style fireplace, and one-bedroom owner's accommodation.

Andrew Bush, from Christie + Co's Maidstone Office, who is handling the sale, commented; "This is a long established guest house business that has been in the vendor's ownership for the past 26 years, but has recently been traded on a limited basis and is being sold due to retirement. In our opinion, there is excellent scope to increase turnover with the business attracting regular and repeat bookings and having the potential to attract both leisure and business guests on a year-round basis."

Christie + Co is seeking offers in excess of £300,000 for the freehold interest of Greswolde Hotel.
