MIXING PROFIT WITH PLEASURE

6th May 2008, 4:21pm

The cocktail culture has made an overwhelming comeback in the past five years, favourites being Pina Colada & Chi-Chi, and bars should be investing in the best equipment for the job, namely Imperial Catering Equipment’s diverse range of blenders.

Their versatility doesn't end there. With sales of smoothies almost trebling between 2001 and 2005 to stand at £79million, outlets need blenders to meet demand for quality beverages morning, noon and night…

The Smoothest Range
Designed to handle whatever's thrown at it, the BarTec range from Imperial produces smoothies and cocktails to keep customers chirpy, from breakfast time to the small hours. Combining container shape with blade design creates an ultra-efficient swirl for perfectly mixed ingredients without unwanted chunks of fruit or ice.

More importantly, each blender has non-slipping feet to grip the work surface and prevent unsightly spillages. The rubber material used acts as a shock absorber to eliminate vibrations.

Recipe ideas

Cracking Cocktail
Cocktails are not just for Caribbean beaches - for those long post-winter nights, why not spice up your customers' lives with a winter warming 'Ginger Apple Brandy' special.

Blend two shots of brandy, half a shot of lime juice and three shots of apple juice with a freshly cut apple, strain into a highball glass half filled with cubed ice. Top up with ginger beer and garnish with apple peel.

Smashing Smoothie
For a healthy and indulgent smoothie, try blending a couple of scoops of vanilla yogurt with vanilla whey powder, frozen raspberries, a tablespoon of nut butter, a squirt of chocolate syrup and fat free milk or water. Delicious!
