Sablon spends Roux Scholarship 2007 in Alsace

London chef to spend Roux Scholarship in Alsace

London chef Armand Sablon who topped this year's Roux Scholarship competition, will be spending his three month stage at Auberge de L'lll, a three Michelin-starred restaurant in Alsace.

The top Eastern France restaurant is known for its Alsatian specialities with cuisine moderne and classic offerings.

The scholarship will be providing Sablon with an intensive one-to-one refresher course, where he will be taught the correct vocabulary needed in a professional French kitchen.

Sablon said: "I am really excited at the prospect of my stage. I took advice from Michel Roux, as I wanted to train somewhere classic, but with a modern twist. This seems the perfect location for me."

The winning chef also walked away with £3,000 cash and trips to New York, Champagne and Milan.

Next year's Roux Scholarship competition will be held in Autumn.
