London Bateaux selected to take part in London Restaurant Festival

17th September 2010, 11:10am

Bateaux London, part of Sodexo Prestige, has been selected to take part in this year's London Restaurant Festival.

Bateaux London is one of the capital's leading restaurant cruise provider serving over 20,000 meals per year. In preparation for the festival, Bateaux London's executive chef, Ben Dutson, has developed a menu to reflect British tastes and seasonal produce.

Rabbit, foie gras, venison, pheasant and duck all feature on the menu and are supported by seafood and vegetarian options. Other items include charred spinach gnocchi with truffles and mushrooms, offering a British twist on an Italian favourite and roasted breast of wild Sussex mallard, served with spinach alongside oxtail tortellini.

Dutson said: "We are excited to release our autumn menu in time for London Restaurant Festival. Our menu spotlights the finest British produce and culinary talent so it's fitting that we're part of a celebration designed to showcase London's dining diversity.

"The game terrine is my favourite dish on the new menu because it's so unusual and such a challenge to create, it really shows off the technical expertise of my team."

Simon Davies, co-founder and director of the London Restaurant Festival, added: "Menus are at the very heart of the festival so to have such an iconic dining venue like Bateaux London serving a bespoke menu is a fantastic addition to the festival's city-wide offer. Bateaux London is such a wonderful dining experience which combines outstanding food and breathtaking views of the capital.

"The new menu takes into account wonderful seasonal produce such as hearty game and rich autumnal fruit and vegetables and I really think it will prove to be a highlight for both Londoners and visitors to enjoy during the two-week festival."
