Livebookings celebrates its 20 millionth diner

12th August 2011, 9:58am

Online reservation company Livebookings has announced that its scalable SaaS solution has now processed a record 20 million covers.

A party of six at Jamie's Italian in Reading recently made a booking through the online system. It was at this point that the company hit the 20 million mark. The reservation itself was made on Livebookings' consumer restaurant reservations website, Bookatable.

Bookatable receives 450,000 monthly visitors and boasts 215% year on year growth. As part of the celebrations, Bookatable will be footing the bill for the special celebratory meal at Jamie's Italian.

With over 9,000 restaurants now using Livebookings, a record 2.6 million diners booked in the quarter ending June 2011 alone. The Livebookings system now generates over £1 million covers a month.

As a result, the organisation is predicting to hit the next landmark of 30 million covers within the next 6 months.

Jason Ridout, operations director at Jamie's Italian, said: "It's fantastic news that Livebookings' 20 millionth cover will be enjoying a celebratory meal at our restaurant and even better that it's on the house!"

Colin Tenwick, chief executive officer of Livebookings, added: "We're delighted to have achieved record growth this quarter and to have reached the 20 million covers landmark. It's clear that even during tough economic times, restaurants are looking at how they can use technology to drive their business forward.

"Our proven track record of delivering predictable increased profits for restaurants means our 9,000 plus customer base out-strips our nearest competitor by more than 40%. With enormous growth potential in Europe and the US, we look forward to more success stories and further expansion in the future."
