24th August 2007, 9:43am

A global reservation network is enabling customers in over 10,000 restaurants, gastro-pubs and eateries to book a table live in real-time.

The Livebookings Network and Booktable have joined forces to create the largest online reservation platform in the world.

Over 2,000 restaurants have already joined the network including the Ritz, Chez Gerard, Planet Hollywood and Le Gavroche.

Websites involved are TimeOut, lastminute.com, Sugarvine, telegraph.co.uk, laterooms.com, VisitBritain and American Express.

CEO of Livebookings Network, Niklas Eklund said: "The member restaurants can potentially reach more than one hundred million active online users. Booktable and Livebookings share a commitment to developing easy to use technological and up-to-date marketing solutions to help enhance restaurant profitability."
