Pub Manager Mark Naylor and his girlfriend Deborah opened the doors despite the snow piled up outside.
Naylor said: "It was quite an operation to clear the snow outside but once we had we had a really busy day on Wednesday. Plenty of customers said they couldn't get hot food elsewhere and so we enjoyed a bumper food service day.
"Everyone had a bit of the 'Dunkirk' spirit about them so the pub was lively and fun. One customer said he had been stuck in town for two days already having to stay in a hotel and lots more couldn't travel to work."
