Last year’s winners: John Gardner and (right) Peter Amor of Wye Valley Brewery, Overall Winner in the SIBA Brewing Business Awards 2009, with (centre), awards judge Pete Brown
And with the deadline for entries named as 31 August, would-be winners need to act fast to make sure that they get their entries in by the end of the month.
The competition, now in its fifth year, is open to all SIBA full brewing members and "compliments the organisation's regional and national beer competitions," which recognise their brewing talent.
Interested SIBA members are able to find out more information about how to enter by visiting SIBA's newly launched dedicated website which has been designed exclusively for SIBA members.
The new site, which will be accessible to members only, promises to offer practical help and advice to participants, covering everything from choosing the right award to enter to writing a compelling entry and submitting supporting materials. Among the awards up for grabs are: Best Promotion & PR, Best Sponsorship and Best Marketing Launch.
The organisation hopes to receive "record" numbers of entries thanks to the newly created website. Chief executive for SIBA, Julian Grocock, said: "The Business Awards have grown in credibility and stature, with the number of entries climbing every year.
"However, we recognise that for many of our members, time to complete entry forms is a luxury as they try to brew, deliver and market their beers to the growing number of customers seeking quality, local products.
"The new website will, we hope, make it easier for more brewers to enter and we look forward to seeing some new names on the shortlist later this year."
The winners of the 2010 Awards will be revealed at a presentation evening in London on 16 November. The event will take place immediately after the SIBA Pub Retailing Conference, which was held for the first time last year and will be held again this year in association with Morning Advertiser and sponsors Enterprise Inns.
The two events are now being held on the same day to make it easier for SIBA members to attend both with minimal time out of their own business.
