LEEDS RESTAURANT LAUNCHES LOW FAT MENU

15th January 2008, 1:03pm

Leeds-based Italian restaurant chain Casa Mia has today launched a low-fat menu designed to help people ditch those stubborn festive pounds without having to compromise on taste.

The healthy menu, inspired by traditional Mediterranean ingredients, contains a specially selected range of starters and main courses, with all two-course options containing less than 500 calories each.

For starters, health-conscious diners can choose to tuck into either a tasty four-bean salad drizzled with light olive oil and basil dressing, scrumptious grilled field mushrooms topped with smoked chicken and Parma ham, or flavoursome asparagus wrapped in Parma ham and served with a fresh cherry tomato sauce.

Moving onto mains, four delectable options are on offer. They include grilled lobster served with chargrilled asparagus and crème fraiche, succulent lemon and chilli chicken alongside a rocket and watercress salad, delicious grilled salmon delicately marinated with lime and lemon zest and flavoursome king prawn kebabs served on a bed of tangy lemon rice.

Speaking about the healthy menu, Casa Mia owner, Francesco Mazzella, said: "With so many people vowing to lose weight at the beginning of the year we decided to launch a healthy menu so that people in the city can continue to enjoy dining out without having to compromise their weight-loss plans.

"All the dishes on the menu contain minimum calories and are made with specially-selected fresh ingredients that are good for both the waistline and heart. This makes it the perfect menu for people who have overdone it over the festive period and want to start 2008 healthily."

The low-fat, healthy-options menu is available from today at both Casa Mia Millennium in Millennium Square and Casa Mia Grande on Harrogate Road, with prices ranging from £5.95 to £10.95. People wanting to try it out should call 0870 4445154 to make a reservation or visit www.casamiaonline.com
