Kevin Todd thanks M&B for “tremendous career” as he retires after 25 years

1st February 2012, 3:39pm

M&B has rung in yet more changes to its management structure with business development director Kevin Todd taking early retirement after 25 years service at the pubco.

The company said that Todd's early retirement plans had been in place for some time and he was keen to help with its recent changes, which saw a three-channel structure replaced with nine brand groups.

Todd has also helped to shape some changes to the marketing team, with Simon Cope and Ian Dunstall appointed marketing director and insight & innovation director respectively (previously Directors of Marketing).

Una Beck Johnson will leave the company having held the position of branding, insight & advertising director.

Bob Ivell, executive chairman said: "I would like to thank Kevin for his significant contribution over many years in building Mitchells & Butlers' brand leadership position in the eating out and pub market. I would also like to thank Kevin for his support and counsel in helping the business with its transition plan since my appointment as executive chairman. Everyone at Mitchells & Butlers wishes him the very best in the future."

Todd, who leaves this month, said: "My career with Mitchells & Butlers has been tremendous. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with my colleagues over the years on building strong sustainable food led brands people enjoy. It has been an honour to work with the new executive team under Bob's leadership in transitioning the business to a frontline guest focused company.

"The strength and experience of the team now in place will reinforce the pre-eminence of Mitchells & Butlers in the UK hospitality industry as the leading managed restaurant and pub business in the years ahead."
