Jimmy Bullard scores with One Bell acquisition

22nd September 2009, 11:24am

Acting on behalf of a national pub operator, Christie + Co has sold the freehold interest of the One Bell pub in Crayford, Kent, to Premiership footballer Jimmy Bullard for an undisclosed sum.

The community wet-led pub, which is situated two miles outside Dartford town centre and close to Crayford dog track, benefits from a 38-cover main bar with games area, large beer garden and a three-bedroom owner's accommodation.

The pub will shortly close for refurbishment and is set to re-open with a more contemporary style in place.

Jimmy, who currently plays for Hull City, will leave the day-to-day running of the business to his father Jimmy Bullard Senior.

Barry Fitzgerald from Christie + Co's Corporate Pubs team said: "We are delighted have been able to secure such a high-profile tenant for this popular community pub. The business currently trades as a wet-led pub but there is potential to increase trade by extending the food offering."
