JD Wetherspoon loses finance director and chief operating officer

Major pub chain, JD Wetherspoon, has announced the departure of its group finance director and chief operating officer.

Keith Down, who oversees the company's financials, will leave "in due course" and Paul Harbottle, current chief operating officer is also moving on.

Chief executive John Hutson will assume Harbottle's duties while Kirk Davis, current deputy finance director will step up and oversee finance on a temporary basis.

Tim Martin, chairman of JD Wetherspoon, said: "The board would like to thank Keith and Paul for their hard work and contribution to JD Wetherspoon over recent years. We wish them well in their future careers."
