Gerry Sutcliffe MP and Brigid Simmonds OBE
Licensing Minister, Gerry Sutcliffe MP introduced the event at the Regency Tavern, Brighton and welcomed the appointment of Brigid Simmonds as the BBPA's new chief executive.
The Liberal Democrat quiz at Sixty Million Postcards in Bournemouth saw the venue reach capacity with speeches from Liberal Democrat Shadow Communities and Local Government spokeswoman Julia Goldsworthy MP and Shadow Treasury Spokesman Jeremy Browne MP.
Brigid Simmonds, chief executive of the BBPA said: "These highly successful events showed how much the average political activist appreciates the British pub, and offered a positive event for the political community to enjoy whilst also putting forward a very serious message on pub closures, increasing regulation and rising beer duty. In the run up the General Election, we will continue to reach out to all political parties to adopt pro-pub policies in their manifestos."
The event followed a quiz last week at the Liberal Democrats conference in Bournemouth.
