Waddell will start with a 2.5 mile swim at his local swimming pool on 24 April. He will then hop on his bike from Stratford to London, rest overnight before running 26 miles in the London Marathon. He is then planning to take part in an Ironman event in Nottingham in August where he will repeat the swim, cycle and marathon in one day.
He will be joined by friends and colleagues along the route to help him raise £5,000 to help fund introduction packs to all hospitals treating children with liver disease, providing families with a vital lifeline as they try to make sense of a diagnosis of a life-threatening disease.
He commented on the challenge: "Funding packs for hospitals is a really tangible return for my efforts and I hope by going a couple of extra steps beyond the London Marathon, more people will become aware of the excellent work undertaken by the Children's Liver Disease Foundation."
