Delhi Grill, opening formally this month, will be serving Indian 'Dhaba' food.
Dhabas are street canteens found in North India. They are down to earth, simple places known for their food – often recipes handed down through the generations.
Delhi Grill is directly inspired by these Dhabas, with its small menu, fresh rotis and vibrant décor and its emphasis on slow cooking with freshly ground and whole spices to achieve deep flavours without using heaps of oil or curry powders.
The owner, Aman Grewal, said: "Our recipes have all come from family and close friends. Working with our chefs to learn the magic behind these recipes was one of our biggest challenges when opening Delhi Grill. It's amazing to think how many generations they have passed down, and we're so lucky that the recipes still exist today – it felt like we were capturing history."
At lunchtime, Delhi Grill serves delicious roti wraps such as the spicy sheekh kebabs with a slow cooked masala in a soft roti to name but one.
The Tandoor and The Cooking Pot feature strongly with a number of slow cooked dishes, so that the evenings provide a cosy and accessible environment to enjoy a relaxed meal with family and friends.
Other treasures for diners to enjoy include the live chapatti making in the restaurant, which takes place at the bar and will wow guests as the dough is rolled, flattened, and puffed up.
Additionally, there is an extensive range of Indian beers on offer to help complete the experience, including Cobra, Kingfisher, Bangla and Lal Toofan. Good wines are also available.
Delhi Grill formally opens its doors on Monday 13th September.
