Hilton Glasgow appoints new restaurant manager for Cameron’s

17th March 2010, 10:01am

Hilton Glasgow has appointed hospitality professional Mathilde Brallet as new restaurant manager for the award-winning contemporary Scottish restaurant Cameron’s.

Mathilde, 25, originally from France, has taken on the role following her successful entry into Hilton hotels' 'Elevator' programme – a programme open to graduates to develop the skills and experience needed to be fast-tracked to a general manager position at a Hilton hotel.

A hospitality management graduate of the Ecole hoteliere de Lausanne in Switzerland, Mathilde spent nine months working in Hilton Glasgow in a variety of roles gaining experience in human resources, conferencing & events, housekeeping and operations before being posted to Hilton Arc de Triomphe in Paris. Mathilde spent a further six months in France working in roles including business development and, reservation management before returning to Glasgow to take up the Cameron's post.

Craig Gardner, general manager at Hilton Glasgow said: "Mathilde joins a talented team at Cameron's who are renowned for their successes in the kitchen. We invest a lot of time training and developing young people coming through the industry, honing their skills to bring out the best of their talent.

"We look forward to seeing Mathilde grow within the position and welcome her ideas in developing and improving the excellent offering at Cameron's."

Since her appointment in December, Mathilde has been working closely with the rest of the Hilton Glasgow team to hone her management skills and develop her ideas on reinforcing Cameron's as a destination restaurant.

Mathilde said: "It's been a challenging start to my managerial career but one that I am wholly embracing. It's great to be able to work in such a well respected and established restaurant as Cameron's and I hope to work with head chef, James Murphy, in developing our offering."
