The Harris Inns pubs, run by husband and wife team Fiona and Mark Harris, are committed to using locally sourced, seasonal produce. Chart Farm, which supplies the venison, is nearby in Seal, near Sevenoaks.
The pubs' executive head chef, Simon Brazier, has created a new dish especially for the scheme which features Chart Farm venison, stilton mash with pancetta & green bean parcels, and a Juniperberry Jus' (£15.50).
Fiona said: "Venison is very lean, healthy and full of flavour – it has a lower fat content than chicken, is higher in iron than other red meats and is low in calories, carbohydrates and cholesterol and is a valuable source of essential Omega 3 acids."
Chart Farm's Sebastian Petersen added: "Living on an entirely natural diet, our meat is rich and full of flavour and produced as stress-free for the animals as possible with all culling and processing taking place here on the farm without the animals having to be transport over long distances."
Action Against Hunger is an international humanitarian organisation specialised in tackling hunger and malnutrition with projects in 43 countries.
The George & Dragon has also been shortlisted in the 'Best Gastro Pub' category of the 'Kent Restaurant Awards'. Customers can vote online for their favourite dining establishment at www.KentRestaurantAwards.co.uk
