Careers Development Group (CDG) who secured work in the hospitality industry for 196 customers last year, have developed relationships with businesses that include Hotel Ibis, Premier Inn and Wetherspoons in a bid to secure suitable roles for their clients, who have commonly been out of work for over six months or have barriers or disabilities that make it difficult for them to find sustainable employment.
The charity provide hands-on support to clients by helping to minimize the recruitment and selection process, developing a strong understanding of their clients, arranging effective pre-screening processes and responding quickly to enquiries.
Luke Wright, human resources officer at Portsmouth Marriot Hotel and Meon Valley, a Marriot Hotel and Country Club feels that the relationship helps support Marriot's company value to give back to the community saying: "We have worked with Careers Development Group on a number of occasions since being introduced to them in 2008, we promote our company to potential candidates and ultimately help them get back into work.
"Marriot as a company has a strong foundation of core values and one of these values is 'The Spirit to serve our Communities'. We feel that through this strong business link with CDG we are meeting and exceeding our company values and really giving something back to the community."
