HEAD CHEF SCORES PLACE IN CULINARY OLYMPICS

4th June 2010, 2:53pm

The head chef at the Craigellachie Hotel in Scotland Stuart Aitken has won a place on the British Culinary Olympics team.

The Scottish chef, who has worked for London's Intercontinental Hotel in Mayfair and Gordon Ramsay's Royal Hospital Road restaurant, will join five other chefs, all members of the Scottish Federation of Chefs, in creating a winning menu to represent Scotland in the competition.

The team's menu will be judged against 25 other countries for creativity, presentation and quality in a cook-off in Luxemberg at the end of November.

Aitken, who likes to use seasonal local produce in his cooking is hoping to bring inspiration back from Luxemburg to use in his own restaurant.
