HA's sporting success raises £60,000

6th June 2008, 3:01pm

Hospitality action, the industry's benevolent organisation, kicked off its summer season of fundraising with resounding success last night (Tuesday 3rd June) raising a massive £60,000 at the second Question of Support event.

Held at Wembley, the evening attracted a packed crowd who battled it out in the fun-filled quiz based on the popular TV programme.

Guests enjoyed a drinks reception in The Great Hall upon arrival before settling down to a seasonal meal interspersed with the quiz. Working with a wireless keypad, teams (named after football clubs) enjoyed an action-packed evening compeered by Sky Sports presenter Vicky Gommersall, with top games including Mystery Guest and What Happened Next? Nestlé were crowned winners for the evening and received the prestigious Question of Support trophy.

HA finished off the evening in style, running a hotly contested auction with fabulous prizes such as tickets to top Chelsea and Manchester United games and a golf day at Wentworth. There was also a silent auction of sporting memorabilia - including a cap signed by F1 ace Lewis Hamilton – other top lots included a crate of premium champagne and an Xbox 360.

"It's brilliant to see the industry pulling together and being so generous in its support at a time when the economic climate means companies are having to really watch their spending. This year's event was every bit as much of a success as last year's and I just want to say a big thank you to all those who attended – it was a great night and £60,000 is a figure that will make a real difference to our beneficiaries," commented Penny Moore, Chief Executive, Hospitality Action.
