HA’s fundraising dinner raises £10,000

27th June 2008, 1:06pm

Hoteliers, restaurateurs and suppliers teamed up to raise a massive £10,000 for Hospitality Action (HA) at a Spanish themed dinner at Paul Heathcote’s Grado restaurant in Manchester last week.

Organisations to attend the event included the Northwest Regional Development Agency, Intercontinental Hotels, Marriott Hotels and property agents Christie + Co.

Restaurateurs to support the dinner included Paul Kitching from the former juniper restaurant in Altrincham, Michael Riemenschneider from the The abbey restaurant in Penzance, and celebrity chef Paul Heathcote, who has raised over £75,000 for Hospitality Action by hosting fundraising dinners.

Funds will be used to help some of the vulnerable people who are working or have worked in the hospitality industry, including those suffering from illness such as cancer, domestic violence or bereavement.

The evening was sponsored by Allied Irish Bank's Hotels Sector team in Manchester.
