GOURMET BAKED POTATO CONCEPT TO LAUNCH IN THE WEST END

1st July 2011, 8:53am

Spud, a new gourmet baked potato concept, will open its first unit on New Row, Covent Garden in July.

Davis Coffer Lyons acted on behalf of landlord Shaftesbury to let the unit to the new operator, which is led by Paul Williamson, an ex-operations manager at Soho House Group and Sarah Wall, an experienced hospitality operator who runs a number of pubs in south west London.

The 510 sq ft unit will comprise a counter area on the ground floor and a seated area in the basement.

Kate Taylor, Davis Coffer Lyons, said: "Spud has identified a real gap in the market; there are so many baked potato lovers but nothing else on the market which offers them with a gourmet twist. We've no doubt Spud will prove an exciting addition to the area's vibrant dining offer."
